Heyo! I’m Kris!
I’m a graphic designer and illustrator based in Dallas/Fort Worth. I love working on projects that focus on illustration, branding, marketing, and infographics.
Let’s go on an adventure together!
The video below demonstrates four samples of animation I created as a part of Broadcat's Video Library. The creation of their compliance training videos (each of which averages at about two minutes long), was a multi-step process that involved sketching storyboards, creating style frames in Illustrator, animating in After Effects, and exporting with caption styles in Premiere Pro.
Broadcat creates engaging and eye-catching compliance training materials to be purchased by companies from all over the globe. While working with them, I got the opportunity to create and customize hundreds of tools for Broadcat’s Design Club .
Note: Due to the confidential nature of some of the items, watermarks have been added and text has been converted to lorem ipsum. All materials were included with permission from Broadcat.

Iconography (both full-color and line art versions)
Expert Generalist LLC is a women-owned small business based in Texas that supports neurodivergent business-leaders overwhelmed by their success. I collaborated with them to transform their logo to fit the "nerdy librarian" aesthetic they had adopted as they've grown their business.
This was the original logo.
These were my original sketches. I figured out pretty quickly that I wanted to keep the 3-legged unicorn because 1) Expert Generalist wants to help entrepreneurs make their "unicorn dreams a reality". 2) A 3-legged unicorn represents Expert Generalist's ability to work with entrepreneurs who operate outside of the status-quo and develop a business strategy that's tailor-made for them . 3) The founder of Expert Generalist actually has a 3-legged cat. That's more of a fun coincidence, though.
I developed larger sketches of the unicorn to use as my base once I started developing the logo in Illustrator.
As I started creating the logo in Illustrator, I realized that I much preferred the rounder, fuller Gelica font as opposed the in-lines of the Azote font (which would have also been harder to read at small sizes). With the Gelica font, the solid-colored version paired best as opposed to the line-art version. I also realized that I wanted to ground the unicorn a bit to eliminate the awkward white-spaces between it and the type.
Ultimately I found the rounded-rectangle shape for my unicorn to live in. It reminded me of the spines of a book, which I thought paired will with the librarian aesthetic the folks at Expert Generalist LLC were going for. All that was left to do was pair it with the type and make sure it all harmonized together.
Nice!
Taking inspiration from Expert Generalist's website, I created several color variations of the logo as PNGs and SVGs that they could grab and drop wherever they needed the logo to exist.
I also provided some alternative shapes for the unicorn in case Expert Generalist wanted to just use the unicorn image. The circle icon is primarily for social media usage, while the stand-alone unicorn can be used for background shapes.
Today, you can find my 3-legged unicorn on the Expert Generalist website.
On their business cards.
Even on their Instagram!
The Antiviral Campaign was a social media campaign by Broadcat LLC that aimed to reach out to people quarantining at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The messages shared information in multiple languages on how to protect yourself from the pandemic from both a physical and mental health standpoint. Below are some of the social media images I worked on that can still be found on the Antiviral Campaign Instagram.
While interning at Fort Worth Magazine, I worked primarily on adapting the print version of the magazine to a web format. Below are screenshots of some of the articles I created as well as links to the full web pages.
Broadcat’s playful and friendly brand is encapsulated in their purple cat mascot. I implemented the brand across various marketing materials, including the “Many faces of Broadcat” t-shirt for the SCCE 2023 Conference, a customer journey "board game" that gamified the customer's onboarding experience, and in their blog.
